Have you ever wanted to try your hand at archery?
The South Okanagan Sportsman's Association holds weekly indoor archery practice throughout the winter months at the Air Cadet building just East of the Oliver Airport. Adult only practice runs on Monday nights from 6 pm until 9:30 pm. Children and family practice runs on Thursday nights with children shooting from 6 pm to 7:30 pm and adults from 7:45 to 9:30 pm. Archery is held outdoors from May to August.
The practice is well run by dedicated archery enthusiasts who are able to help out new learners and give tips on proper technique. There is ample space for large groups of archers, a variety of targets to shoot at, and participants adhere to proper safety rules throughout the shoot.
Costs for indoor archery:
Adults: $3 for SOSA members, $4 for BC Archery Association members, or $6 for non-members.
Rentals: If you do not have your own archery equipment rentals are available for $5
People who are new to archery are allowed to drop in for four sessions of archery before a membership to either the South Okanagan Sportsman's Association or the BC Archery Association is required.
