The Oliver Community Arts Council has been involved in the promotion of the South Okanagan arts scene since the 1970's. The Oliver Community Arts Council is a not-for-profit society that represents seventeen member groups, fifteen arts-supporting businesses and about 80 individuals and families in our community.
The Oliver Community Arts Council mounts several major public events throughout the year:
Spring Arts Faire (early April) Browse all the booths selling, displaying, demonstrating, and teaching their art. Giftware, artwork, class registrations, information booths, event promotions, and even small studio and gallery displays.
BC Arts and Culture Week (3rd week of April) Exhibits, open houses, workshops, and concerts featuring local arts and artists held at many locations around Oliver.
Showcase of Talent (May) The best of the local Oliver’s youth performers onstage.
Music in the Park (July–August) Outdoor concerts. Jazz, classical, country, pop, gospel, blues, and good ol’ rock and roll. Concerts run every Thursday evening during July and August, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Fall Art Show and Sale (first weekend in October) Multimedia competition, exhibits, and sales held in conjunction with the Festival of the Grape at the Community Centre.
Community Christmas Concert (first weekend in December): Local performers set the mood for the Christmas season with festive music, dance and spoken word.
